Great post..I have had the recent experience of having a meeting w/ a mentor that was introduced to me through a networking event. I posed the same scenario to him. He told me define your “end vision” and then build the steps to achieve goals that are necessary to reach that vision. But in his next sentence he exclaimed I would def. try to get it going quickly hmmmm.

So I think there is a fine line of being patient and too patient. I think the most important part as you posted is actively going after those goals. I will keep you updated with my status as well.
